The Double Eagle Flute in the key of F♯ minor is a traditional double-reed instrument handcrafted from American Walnut, a hardwood known for its excellent acoustic qualities and its natural variety of tones, ranging from dark brown to golden blonde.
Tuned to 440 Hz, this flute offers a clear, brilliant sound, thanks in part to the non-toxic natural oil finish that enhances its resonance. Playing a double flute means producing the melody on one side, while the other side emits a continuous drone on the fundamental note, creating the harmonic effect of two instruments playing together.
Equipped with two mouthpieces, this model allows for instant switching from double to single mode, without any adjustments. It is tuned in F♯ minor, but can also be used to play the relative diatonic scale in A major (A), offering versatility for both accompaniment and improvisation.
At 59cm long and 19cm wide, this flute combines stage presence and ease of use, requiring only a little more effort than single flutes to produce sound.
