The Twin Tail Double Drone Flute in the key of G minor (440 Hz) is handcrafted from Spanish cedar, a softwood that gives the instrument a clear, bright, and resonant tone. Finished with non-toxic natural oils, it combines beauty and sound quality in a versatile and captivating instrument.
Thanks to its two separate mouthpieces, it can be played either as a double or single flute, without any adjustments. One side plays the melody, while the other produces the drone on the fundamental note, creating a harmonic effect that seems to come from two musicians playing together.
At 59 cm long and 19 cm wide, it's a generously sized yet well-balanced instrument. This flute has six holes and includes a leather ligature to cover the third hole from the top (the sixth hole), offering the option of starting with the five-hole configuration and easily moving to the full configuration. It can also be played in the relative major scale of A♯ (A♯).
