The Double Nova Flute in the key of A minor is a handcrafted double-reed instrument made from domestic Spanish cedar. This softwood gives the flute a warm, full, and well-balanced voice, ideal for those seeking depth of sound in a compact instrument.
Playing a double flute means creating melodies on one side while the other side produces a continuous drone on the fundamental note, giving the impression of playing two instruments at once. The two independent mouthpieces allow you to easily switch between double and single modes without any adjustments.
The flute is tuned in A minor and can also be used to play the relative diatonic scale in C major (C). Thanks to its 440 Hz tuning, it is compatible with other standard instruments.
Measuring 36 cm long, 5.7 cm wide, and 3.2 cm thick, it's a compact, easy-to-carry, and highly versatile instrument. Unlike other models, it doesn't include the leather binding for the 5-hole conversion, but it's still easy to play for musicians of all levels.
