Not 29 days like the synodic cycle — the one tied to the Moon's visible phases from Earth. The sidereal cycle is the primary one, the Moon's pure motion relative to the cosmos. The sidereal month is the duration of the lunar cycle measured against the fixed stars: 27 days, 7 hours and 43 minutes. It differs from the synodic month (29.53 days) that governs the Moon's visible phases.
