The sound of Mercury
Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun and completes its orbit in just 88 Earth days — the shortest cycle of all the planets. Hans Cousto calculated its orbital frequency: 70.64 Hz — note C#2. Despite the planet's speed, the sound is among the lowest in the series — deep, mysterious, with harmonics that unfold slowly. An unexpected quality that makes the Mercury Gong one of the most fascinating and least predictable instruments in the whole planetary family.
